Sunday Skincare

Today is Sunday! Time for skincare and no-makeup hangouts with friends. I know it may sound a bit scary to go out without makeup (I mean even no concealer), but it actually reveals your self-respect. Here are some options for a brighter skin that your friends will adore.

The main purpose is looking bright, not pale without makeup. Therefore, you may need some refreshing and also a skin-friendly choice. When I go to the bathroom, I shilly-shally about what to apply to my skin.

  • What moisturizer to use? Cream or face oil?
  • How am I supposed to care for my skin, at the same time? Harsh or gentle?
Brightening oils
The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil and Manyo Factory Rosehip Oil

HARSH OR GENTLE
Rosehip Oil:
One of the main compounds is carotenoid. It basically is an antioxidant and UV-protector. Linoleic acid helps to prevent acne breakouts. Sitosterol is a chemical that has been shown to prevent the growth of skin epidermoid carcinoma cells. It has anti-oxidant, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory effects as well.
Tea Tree Oil: The leaves of tea tree has been being used to treat scars, wounds, dandruff and breathing problems. Its mainland is Australia where Aborigines steamed and extracted the oil from it. Terpinen-4-ol has anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory effects. It has even been reported to be a promising treatment for gastric cancer. The problem is it feels very very harsh. Although it suppresses interleukins, it is possible that it may lead to skin rash. As such, if you will be using it for the first time, you better apply a bean-sized area on your skin. If you don’t observe any reaction after 24h, then you can go for it. It feels quite refreshing and energized. It reduces dark spots as well, but I am not sure whether you can apply this daytime.

  • Choice: Tea tree oil seems to make your skin vulnerable to sunburn. So, I would rather prefer rosehip oil for daytime underneath foundation.

  • Cream or face oil
Nivea Q10 plus Anti Falten cream and Frei öl face oil

CREAM OR OIL
Frei öl:
This oil has a very light, clear and bright texture. I have used face oils before, but this one is the best so far. Unlike other oils, my skin breathes through it. It doesn’t promote acne formation, rather evens out skin pigmentation in a few days. It moistures without being greasy. It traps water with the help of  Capric Triglyceride that is extracted from coconut oil. Frei öl consists of very basic and commonly used oils, but somehow their golden ratio makes a skincare product perfect.
Nivea Q10 Plus Anti-Wrinkle: Q10 has revolutionized the skin care market. It is a coenzyme that facilitates regeneration and prevents aging of the skin. It has shea tree butter and Capric Triglyceride to keep your skin moist.

  • Choice: I think I am will apply a cream with a few drops of rosehip oil in it, but I will definitely take Frei öl with me. A few hours later, I will use it to refreshen my skin and look brighter.
